While the Town is limited on what we can directly do to assist your struggling businesses, one thing we can do is connect you to resources and advisors to help you get back on-track - whether it's marketing, finances, human resources, supply chains or any other part of your business. The best approach is to get in contact with our staff to help assess your needs and discuss what resources we can bring to you to help you most. Know that the sooner you seek assistance, the better the chance to help your business survive. Discussions are confidential.

We also would encourage you to seek the free business assistance from the Small Business Center at Durham Tech, Small Business and Technical Development Center at UNC, or SCORE Chapel Hill Durham. Generally, no, you do not need a business license from the Town to open a new business. You will need to make sure to have your business registered with the State of North Carolina. If you are selling beer or wine, you will need to get a license from the Town.

Because of the quickly changing status of commercial properties, the Town does not provide a database of available properties for public viewing.
