Jonathan Farmer is the author of That Peculiar Affirmative: On the Social Life of Poems (Stephen F. Austin, 2019) and the poetry editor and editor-in-chief of At Length. His poem, “Haw River Meditation,” was a finalist for the 2019 On Teaching Poem Prize, which is given to honor the best-unpublished poem written about K–12 teaching and/or teachers and was judged by Presidential Inaugural Poet Richard Blanco. He teaches middle and high school English and lives in Durham, NC.
