Proclamation Request
A proclamation is an official document issued by the Mayor to commemorate a specific time period (such as a day, week, or month). It brings recognition, awareness, or appreciation to an issue, cause, milestone, or noteworthy even that is relevant and important to Carrboro. The Mayor issues proclamations that have a direct relevance to Carrboro and reflect civic activity, pride, accomplishments, and other important observances. Proclamations are strictly honorary and are not legally binding.

The Mayor's Office reserves the right to decline any request or make exception to these guidelines:
- Requests must be made 30 days before the requested date of issuance. If requests are not made 30 days in advance, every attempt will be made to complete your proclamation, but we cannot guarantee you will have it in the requested time frame.
- Issuance of a proclamation does not indicate or imply a policy endorsement from the Mayor.

- Draft language submitted should be factually accurate and include up-to-date information.
Requests should Include
- A draft proclamation
